New music services for seniors: La SAMS.tv and live concerts

La SAMS is innovating by launching a new music content platform: " La SAMS.tv". Concerts for seniors at home, in residences or in CHSLDs will be offered free of charge, with unlimited access at all times.

Proud of its virtual projects developed in 2021, La SAMS relies on the high quality of its artists and the many positive feedbacks it receives to offer seniors a new music content platform dedicated to them: La SAMS. This new streaming site is accessible by registration free of charge. It will provide unlimited access to a library of 23 musical vignettes specially designed for its clientele, in which nearly 60 artists have collaborated. These online concerts have been recorded under professional conditions, with an emphasis on the human and warm side. New musical content will be produced and added as it becomes available. Information and registration: samsante.org/tv/

La SAMS also offers three weekly live music events. Artists from Montreal and Quebec City await seniors for a virtual meeting in their homes, for a 45-minute session far from the current preoccupations. For those who like to sing, Thursdays are reserved for the SAM'Chante activity with singer and pianist Kristin Hoff who interprets special requests from the audience. These live concerts are offered, free of charge, from Tuesday to Thursday at 2 pm, until March 17. Discover the program of La SAMS live!

These new virtual programmes aim to create unifying musical moments, integrated into everyday life, in order to make the most of music's incredible effects on health and well-being.
" The bond between artists and audiences is born out of a mutual need to share musical moments filled with beauty and joy. With these new initiatives, La SAMS continues to keep these valuable channels of communication open by taking music to places where it is not, but is still so necessary," according to its president, Sylvia L'Écuyer.

There are many appreciative comments:

"Thank you very much for giving us such beautiful and varied concerts, so good for the morale and the heart."

"A little gem that really makes our residents happy.

"Excellent for our mental health! The residents listen to these concerts with stars in their eyes.

"It's my time to relax. Listening to music is therapeutic for me.

Created to further its mission of bringing the benefits of music to those who need it most, these online programmes complement the in-person music services and Heartfelt Appeals, and provide additional exposure for professional artists at La SAMS.
